Adrien Berlioz

Adrien started his own domaine in 2006 with 1.5 hectares from his father. He has gradually added to these over the years and now has around 7 hectares in total, spread over 17 different parcels with a variety of different soil types and characters. Local grapes such as Jacquère, Altesse and Mondeuse are of course used and this is a domaine very much in tune with its surroundings.

All work is done by hand, with the use of a horse on occasion to help work the soil. Adrien feels he really understands the rhythm of the vines on his land and is fully committed to biodynamic agriculture. In addition his partner was a beekeeper and everything is done to protect biodiversity and the equilibrium of the environment. In the winery of course everything is done naturally with only a tiny addition of SO2 at bottling.

Adrien always has new projects and ideas and at the moment is replanting an abandoned vineyard with a pergola system along agro-forestry principals. His wines are always vital and exciting, with a purity and complexity that has to be tasted to be believed.
