Bodegas Abeica Rioja Chulato 2022

The fourth generation decided to pull back from the commercial direction the estate was taking in the 1990s and have returned to a truly artisan approach. Beautifully tended vineyards, hand harvested by the extended family, are complemented by a gravity fed winery. Fermentations are generally whole bunch and the wines have a refreshing lightness of touch. The village is renowned in Rioja for the quality of its Tempranillo, and this truly shows in the finished wines. This wine is made by carbonic maceration to produce a gorgeous light and crunchy style, and the label is a throwback to the 1970s label of the property.
